Trauma informed practice is what the school preaches but not what is practiced. There is a lot of disagreement among staff as to what trauma informed practice is and how it is practised. Many staff are punitive and believe they know better and any questioning of their practices are discouraged and people who question are bullied into silence. I experienced bullying from members of staff many times and witnessed it being done to others also. Students were often locked up when they didn't follow instructions despite coming to the school with lots of trauma.
