One of the Worst Run Schools in Queensland.

While the school was average for my first few years of education, ever since the new Principal Fiona Free took over the school has gone durastically downhill.

Not only is it obvious that her treatment of the teachers borders on workplace abuse - to the point where even the teachers vented to the students about the treatment they recieved in the school's higher ups. And the school wonders why teachers constantly leave the school.

Many promises where made to the students in the school by the Principal, such as having full access to JD Block during lunch breaks for senior students - were instantly demished because the school authority didn't know how to handle younger grade students from getting in.

The school was serverely lacking in toilets. To the point where there were only around 7-9 toilets for females in the entire school. The school had other toilet blocks, but the principal preferred to put her money into making new buildings that the school didn't need rather then fixing the old toilets or renovating the old buildings.

The older classrooms were next to delapotated, with K Block having a unchecked rat infestation, C block was not made to house the proper facilities for computers (to the point where the power points would spark if your tried to plug anything in).

The newer buildings were clearly poorly designed, with JD Block having unnessary ethernet ports OUT IN THE OPEN.

The only thing from keeping the school from being entirely bad was the teachers. While there were some EXTREMELY BAD teachers in the school (including one that emotionally abused many students and called a student a slur) - the teachers that were passionate about the school we're some of the best teachers I've ever had. It's a shame that at the time I'm writing this - most of them left the school.

Overall, if you want to send your kid to a school in Caboolture, don't send them to Caboolture. I don't know about other schools in the area, but Caboolture High will care about your child. They won't care enough to give your kid the proper facilities to flourish. You'd have better luck taking advantage of the local train and sending them to a school in a high economy zone then sending them to a school in Caboolture.

Good school, but the principle is horrible

2022 graduate here. I can say that it used to be a good school, and in terms of student and school culture, I'd say it's still probably one of the best in the area.
Yes, there's some shitty kids there, but for the most part, if you keep your head down, you're not gonna get picked on or anything. People don't really care.

Unfortunately, when the principal Fiona Free came in, it started to go down hill. By the time I graduated, we'd been through 2 timetable changes, had the school's award winning LearnIT program dismantled, subject fees introduced (which are difficult for the subject departments to even make use of), and a massive chunk of the staff leave. In particular, we lost many great teachers who'd been there anywhere between 5 to 30+ years.
She's been absolutely horrible to some of the staff, driving them to the point where they simply could not handle being there anymore.

The principal also shut half the school's toilets because they couldn't be bothered doing repairs or renovating them, so in my final year, we had maybe 5 stalls for the whole school at any given time.
And half the time, people were vaping in there while the lines were down the hall.

She took the wonderful tuckshop away from the P&F, and employed some shitty company that destroyed it. Price hikes, undercooked or burnt food, frozen bread, and cross-contamination that caused a friend of mine to have an allergic reaction are just some of the issues there.

Since she took over, the school also started chasing the Indigenous inclusivity award, and started running all these lunch time events that only Indigenous students were allowed to attend. Even something as simple as a sausage sizzle, where they didn't even sell enough and had to start giving leftovers out to random passers by anyway.
I can understand having some of these events, but I don't think having them start to out number those on offer to everyone else is very fair. I think it would make more sense to invite everyone to learn about the culture and such rather than exclude people based on race.

It really disappointed me to see it all fall apart under her leadership, as I really did love the school before she came in. Here's to hoping her rein doesn't last much longer.
