Bullied by teacher and poor preparation for the future
Had a bad experience at CHAC. Got bullied by a religion teacher (Miss B.. lets call her) for wearing a light, natural concealer and powder to school due to being extremely self conscious at this age (I wouldnt care at all about not wearing makeup now but did at the time).
Teacher would be teaching class for 30 mins while we listened silently to her and she would interject her class and say to everyone "and (my name) is wearing makeup again. she is going to leave the class and go to the bathroom to wash it all off now". never in my life have i been so mortified and neither did i deserve this for wearing the smallest amount of natural makeup due to being insecure. She called me out multiple times in front of the class and picked on me despite other girls wearing eyeliner and heavier makeup. She didn't like me.
Also teachers only helped favourites not the kids who were actually struggling. Kinda backwards and especially for how much you pay. THere was a lot of bullying as well between the students (one of my friends had attempted sui***e due to online bullying...) and absolutely no preparation for our future when we were to leave school in terms of careers.

School is ok. School fees are high but some classrooms look poor and lack modern technology. Tuckshop is overpriced and bad food. ICT department controls entirety of the computer (to the point where you can’t change your wallpaper).
Pros
School is well resourced
nice facilities
convenient location
excursions and camps are great and mostly included in school fees.
most teachers are good
high school curriculum is interesting and varied
laptop is included in school fees
Cons
Little support for children with additional needs
lack of cultural diversity
primary music program has no bands like larger state schools
sport opportunities are limited by size of primary/high school. Touch football, volleyball, swimming, basketball, soccer, rugby, netball, hockey and tennis are the main sports.
Lack of investment in student wellbeing. Resources are surface level and there appears to be no particular commitment to do anything in this space.
