Great school. Son is in prep this year and nothing but positive feedback. Bullies attend every school, can’t say Coombabah is any worse than any other school.
On my daughters final week before graduating she came home with a hand written letter and personalised Spotify play list from a male teacher. We met with the DP to discuss how inappropriate this was and that the teacher had crossed some boundaries. We were advised that the matter would be investigated.
We never received an outcome and to those day, left wondering what happened.
Well done Cbah👎🏾
My experience at this school was horrific and a strain on my mental health, the school work was stressful and demanding and the students at the school were terrible many of the students are disruptive verbally physically abusive towards fellow students and teachers and many student have assaulted other students oustide of school many kids have gone to the school about it and nothing have been done many male students have verbally harrased female students and made gestures towards them I did not feel safe at the school and I still don't just walking past the school is to obsessed with there image to address the disgusting behaviour of there students and the lack of care and neglect from the teachers.
It is a good school despite its reputation. Teachers try very hard with education and to keep all the students in the loop, as well as trying to get students the grade they deserve. there are so many extra curricular activities such as after school and lunch clubs, and many excellence programs like Academy for athlete development training, rugby team, academic excellence, art exc, etc… and they all provide exactly what you expect and more to cater to what your goals are.
Let’s be for real sure the school has an amazing sports program and art program but they are always spending money trying to be the best school in Coombabah and if you aren’t popular or in the sports program no one likes you not Evan the teachers. it is bullshit they focus on the popular kids who don’t do work and alway disrupt lessons than on the good kids who do there work and aren’t swearing at the teachers every second of the lesson. They also expect that everyone who goes to the school is rich they are making the school a BYOD school and expect everyone to have a device although some kids aren’t filthy rich and can’t afford mac books/ laptops
Barely satisfactory. The school is know for its sports program, but puts little effort into arts or academics. Very minimal focus on STEM, poorly funded arts program, and does the bare minimum for a diverse curriculum. School events and assemblies are inconsistent and ineffectively managed. Additionally, serious behavioural issues are not addressed in lieu of policing uniform. Violence and disruptive behaviours are barely acknowledged. This school will provode the bare minimum of a secondary education, but not much more.
