Donvale Christian College

This school is ass! i’m a poc and many teachers at this school are racist. for instance, if there is a minor problem with my uniform or any of that sort, and my friend who is also not in correct uniform many teachers will only target me?! how rude. this has happened multiple times by multiple teachers. also the teachers can’t teach and we have to rely on edrolo, textbooks and powerpoints to learn the content? why r we doing the teachers jobs while they get paid? i feel targeted all day everyday at school by teachers and some teachers are older than dinosaurs!! can u believe that? me neither 😝

The Bad;
I'm autistic and coeliac, and I found accommodations were rather hard to get. Lights in some buildings would give me debilitating headaches and there weren't many affordable gluten free options in the canteen. As of late, the school has been rather poor at communicating important information to both the parents and students. I have reason to believe most staff were not informed either, but this could be due to a personal issue within the school, as it's been alright in the past and hasn't had this kind of issue before.

The Good;
I found teachers were very hit or miss - you either love them or hate them. I've definitely had more good experiences with teachers than bad, and I still have friendly conversations with some of my past teachers when we run into each other on the campus. Speaking of the campus, it's huge with a wide range of sporting facilities, playgrounds, and ovals. Activities offered by the school are also great. I'm currently doing jiu jitsu and it has helped me immensely, both physically and mentally.

Conclusion;
There's pros and cons to the school, but most of it is personal experience and every school will have its ups and downs. I'm grateful that I can go to this school, despite times when it isn't the best fit for me.
