firstly, i'd like to address that i haven't been to this primary school since 2022, and while i didn't know this at the time, i had—and still have—autism as well as being a foreigner from a different country. i had difficulty making friends due to being bullied as well as being far more mature than the other kids my age. i also didn't do well in school academically—mostly c's or the occasional d in my report cards with the rare a.
admittedly, it wasn't the worst school in the world, however i wanted to criticise the hypocracy of the teachers.
i joined first grade back in 2017 around easter. to say my first grade teacher was like a mother to me would be an understatement, as she was extremely polite and gentle. unfortunately, the teachers had only gotten worse as the years went on.
in the second grade, i would get verbally abused and yelled at by my teacher for being late to school everyday—something that happened due to my tantrums in the mornings because of not wanting to go. after my father yelled at my teacher, she became extremely fake and overly friendly with me, though secretly she'd call me bossy and a crybaby.
in the third grade, me and my best friend loved to draw. everyone in our class considered us the 'art kids' and we would draw on any surface of paper. one day, we finished an exam early so we handed our papers in and we were told by our teacher that we could draw on it while we waited for the rest of our class to finish, and that we did. we later handed our exams in when class was nearly over and, to our horror, our teacher lifted both our papers in the air, in front of the rest of the class, said "this is an example of what NOT to do on your exam papers" and had us erase ALL our drawings.
in the fifth grade, i got severely bullied by my entire year level. the whole fifth grade cohort relentlessly harassed me over something i couldn't control and i suffered tremendously.
in the sixth grade, i was made fun of by a teacher for not being taught how to read an analog clock, not knowing my times tables and for not knowing where australia was located on the geographical map.
overall, would not recommend unless your child is neurotypical and australian. racism is a small issue, but the main issue is that staff won't do anything to solve the amount of bullying there, along with teachers abusing their authority.
