This school has set me back so far in life. I left it as a twelve-year-old who couldn't read time, or tell you the order of the months, because they gave up on teaching me those things, and I am academically gifted, so I feel bad for the kids who were already struggling and were then sent to this poor excuse for a school. The bathrooms are dirty, full of spiders and broken equipment. I was yelled at by an art teacher, in front of my whole class, for putting a button from the art rooms in my pocket. I was 7. I cried at my graduation because I was finally free of the seven years of bullying that happened right in front of teachers, that I reported to teachers, but was never stopped. This school condemns discrimination, but ableism, homophobia, racism and sexism run deep, and go largely unpunished.
