The school’s recent and ongoing renovations are unfinished, with a balcony with unstable railing, a water supply at drink taps with a white cloudiness, walled off tight corridors where people can get trampled, a one doorway exit which everyone floods out of at the end of the day (an emergency escape hazard), “new” bathrooms that haven’t received any cleaning in the near 4 weeks that the school has been open and a vending machine that doesn’t show half the prices and has inconsistent dispensing of goods. The teachers hand out detentions to students who arrive late from a bus that came 45 minutes behind schedule, don’t stop any bullying in the classrooms, and have extreme power trips over their students. An example of this is the teacher Julie Black, who is a pathological liar who will make up things about innocent students to other teachers and yell at them for being seated in an area (indoors and allowed) simply because she does not want to walk back and forth down the hall. People who aren’t in full school uniforms are segregated for social media photos when they’re taken despite the changes this year to the policy. The school clearly cares most of all about reputation and not it’s student’s well-being’s. Sure, there are definitely pros to going to Footscray high school, but there are an extreme number of cons that go unnoticed in the advertising and are unaddressed.
