Extremely exclusive environment.
Disabilities are not catered for, despite one of the school values being inclusivity, to the point where students are kicked out for disabilities.
There is A LOT of favouritism, especially in specialist areas such as performing arts.
Students are NOT given fair opportunities.
In terms of education, the teachers are generally confident and able to provide an average amount if support to students.
Whilst the campus and most teachers are incredible. The school environment itself is hostile with bullying and harassment rampant within all year groups. Our grades might be good, but it comes at the expense of the students time, mental health, self esteem and the work load is enough to drain anyone to their very core. The performing arts department is one of the best I have experienced, however, the rest of the school feels like an unsafe environment where the students are not only unwilling to embrace themself but know that if they show unique qualities they will be targeted by the students who continuously put themselves above others. Teachers lack behaviour management skills and are unable to punish students beyond a certain point, after which admin and staff refuse to discipline them further.
Staff refuse to acknowledge the mental health of students and how they damage it. Ignoring students who are severely struggling, they have one councillor in the past who made students uncomfortable, who was recently removed from employment, leaving students without a safe support system to utilise. Because of this the barely fourteen year old students are having to go to their friends with things no student let alone multiple should have to deal with, creating unhealthy attachment and unstable relationships.
Overall, whilst the education is good and some teachers are incredible. The school itself lacks behaviour management skills, employs staff who lack empathy and teaching ability. And allow students to attend that will continuously bully anyone who shows any differences.
