I thought it was great school... turns out I was wrong
Though this school has decent academic opportunities, the running of the school is done quite poorly. The support system that is provided by the school is flimsy at best with those in charge brushing off instances of homophobia, racism and misogyny. Instead they seem to be more concerned with suppressing anything they deem 'controversial', including a simple book display celebrating the DOE endorsed Wear it Purple Day, a small page of mental health resources and support staff for LGBTQ+ people, and the wearing of the school ties by girls. Furthermore, virtually most good teachers eventually leave this school because of this suppressive environment created by the executive team. This school has often been referred to as a stepping stool for teachers and, from my experience, I agree. On the surface it definitely seems great but after years of facing so many barriers when trying to access support, and witnessing so many holes in the running of this school, I cannot honestly say that this school was a good environment for me. And under the current principal and executive team, I don't think this will change.
