Reviewing ghs

After Mr Nathan Wong Has taken over the head role as principal the school has improved and is on a high run. the teachers are lovely and are very helpful and accomodate to everyone and their special needs. For example someone with autism or downsydrome have their own special rooms and teachers that accommodate to their needs. the school may have some trouble students but that doesn’t reflect the amount of amazing students who love to look out for each other and everyone else .

Principal ruined the school

This school is failing their students by letting a principal run the school into the ground, many teachers have left due to his actions and aren’t looking back. The current principal is a disgrace and should not be teaching he has only made the school worse it was once a good school and now children are smoking and stealing in school it’s a shame to see a once good school turned to s*** the subjects are limited to all years due to no teachers and children have frees even in year 7 and year 12 have hardly any teachers who are there all the time so kids can’t get help when they need it and are ultimately failing their classes. This principal needs to go as he has achieved nothing and is failing all students.

Why I don’t like GHS

I am an ex student from Gulgong high school and I must say that in the past 3 or so years the school has total lost control. When I got my subject lines for year 11 there was 2 or 3 things on each line, this is when I decided there was no point in me attending that school anymore. Gulgong has many minimal supervision periods which consist of students sitting in the playground doing absolutely nothing. The students behaviour has been out of control and I believe that the reasoning for this is that the school doesn’t have enough rules and boundaries. Whilst attending gulgong high school my mental health was very poor and what ever I did to reach out for help they wouldn’t do anything about. I believe that the school needs to get their priorities in order, the school cares more about phones and locking the bathrooms then it does about the students and their learning and mental health. When I attended Gulgong high we had 4 periods a day and most days I would have 2 or 3 minimal supervision periods so that’s 50-75% of a day wasted doing nothing. I feel every disadvantaged by attending gulgong high for the 4 years that I did. I always wanted to choose music and drama as my electives and I didn’t have the choice to choose either of them so I would have to do distance. In year 10 (last year) I had music as an elective and in term 1 we had a teacher, we came back term 2 and the teacher had disappeared, we hadn’t heard anything until we came back for term 3 where he had come back and taken his stuff. After that we never heard from him, so for 3 terms my class and I had no teacher and it wasn’t just music that this was happening in, this was happening in other subjects too. If I’m going to be honest I think gulgong high school needs to really reconsider things or be closed down.
