Highfields State Secondary College

I went to Highfields last year. The toliets would always smell fruity from vapes or like cigarette smoke. There was always rude and mean stuff written on the back of the toliet doors

So I went to the school for a year and a half starting at year 7, everyone's always vaping, smoking weed in the bathroom and the walls are covered in graffiti and the desks walls etc are covered in penis drawings, the bullying is practically tolerated, their was a boy bullying me for months and I kept telling the school, they didn't do 1 thing about it and when I lost it and attacked him after being irritated for months they got mad at me for retaliating and suspended me and treated me like an animal. The people that go there are horrible and have no respect, the boys are all perverts, multiple girls have been sexually assaulted by boys in their grade or harrased (including myself) they only take bullying seriously when the person retaliates after weeks and months and it usally ends in the victim getting in more trouble, the male teachers are pervy and I once had a male pe teacher come up behind me and grip my waist and he'd call me a good girl 24/7 which made me highly uncomfortable, the girls their are nasty and people won't accept you for how you are. Overall it's an extremely depressing personality changing school and the teachers don't want to be their just as much as the students, please do not send your kids here, send them somewhere else, I left the school ages ago and people still talk shit about me there. If you want your kids to be safe then send them to a private school.

Special needs are ignored except major disabilities.
Students are always vaping and smoking weed in the bathrooms as well as graffiti in the stalls.
That has lead to the toilet blocks being shut and massive lines on the one block that’s open. Which results in us being late to class, not every happy with that.
Teachers clearly don’t want to be there, except for maybe three.
They do nothing about bullying.
They don’t care about learning, they only care about uniforms and phones. Not allowed to listen to music while working to help us focus which helps many students, including myself.
The only opportunities offered are for the sporty kids or the kids who enjoy debating.
My learning abilities have dropped since moving to this school.
Tuckshop has no allergy friendly food options.
I’m trying to think of something positive to add but I can’t think of anything.
Overall, not a good school, do not recommend

This school has both negatives and positives. If you focus on mainstream subjects (sports, science, academic) you are offered lots of opportunities. However, if you are more of a practical student or have different interests, you are likely ignored and/or encouraged to leave school for a trade. You will also likely be looked down on.
You will only encounter one or two teachers who genuinely care about you and put effort into their students, with the other staff seeing you as a number and a chore. There are no precautions for mental health, and staff are most often very very disrespectful and ignorant with disorders such as anxiety or adhd.

The facilities are good, though students always destroy them. The subject material is kind of pointless at some parts, and in the essential/lower classes, completely irrelevent and they treat their students like they are stupid, they also support ignorance in serious matters. Students never listen, probably for that reason.

The school would be good if most students and most staff were not there.
