Not a good school at all. My child told me teachers swear and vape in the class room. They have absolutely no understand or empathy when it comes to special needs. They’re big on punishment, suspension instead of putting supports in place for kids with special needs. Certain staff are defensive, condescending and rude with bad attitudes. They never listen and are too lazy or closed minded to fix systemic problems within the school. No wonder why the school has such a low attendance rate. There’s a drug problem at the school and random bag searches have been conducted in the past. Teachers personal appears and in appropriate behaviour leaves a lot to be desired - covered in tattoos, dyed hair, provocative clothing and conversations with the students about personal sexual experiences and drug/alcohol use. Grounds are poorly maintained especially the agricultural paddocks and fruit gardens which are never mowed with long grass around shoulder height. Perfect environment for snakes and vermin. Over all I think the department of education should be absolutely ashamed of this disgraceful school. I believe the only thing that might save the school could be a change in executive staff and overhaul of teachers. Poor results in all areas is a reflection of bad management and or teaching methods.
The school is a great place to actually learn things. The majority of teachers are really good - which would be the same at most schools. There is a good variety of subjects for students to choose from that will meet their needs.
However the school is very slow when dealing with issues within like fights, bullying, vaping, other drugs, but are more concerned with the colour of your children’s hair and socks. They also don’t listen to what the students think should change. There is no effort to help them.
