Lake Mac high is not a good school to send ur kids to they don’t offer the support u need and they r sexist towards girls n always make student feel uncomfortable.they also dont help student when they are getting bullied around the school, they are also very rude as a former student I would not recommend sending ur kids to lake Mac high as they don’t give the support that ur child needs
This school sucks, they don't offer the help students need. The teachers couldn't care less about their job and the way they treat their students, in-fact one of the teachers has encouraged a student to beat up an autistic peer. The teachers in the special education unit belittle disabled students, they do not offer support to students who need help diagnosis or not. Favouritism over prodigy and beloved students. Students who are struggling with addiction problems (vaping, smoking etc. are looked down upon and female students are revoked from their toilet privileges, the "help" they offer with addiction is revealed to parents/guardians with no other help or guidance with their addiction problems. As well as wasting their educational money on unnecessary needs (a third basketball court, a second car park, air conditioning system that doesn't work, etc).
Lake Mac also has a very severe bullying problem which teachers/deputy don't seem to care about. Teachers are also known to force students into uncomfortable situations (p.e year 11 camp, getting forced to work with bullies). As well as lake Mac being prone to uncomfortable situations they do unnecessary bag searches (whether they have consent or not) if the students refuse the bag searches they are threatened with police force. Another incident that has happened at lake Mac quite recently is publicly humiliating some female students at an assembly forcing them to lift their shirt and show their waistband of their shorts. In one case a LGBTQ+ student on the S.R.C and ally teacher organised a pride club for other LGBTQ+ students to help them feel supported and loved, as advertised around the school (posters), said advertisements as soon as they were put up were ripped down by insensitive students. The group was later discontinued a few weeks later due to feeling shamed. Quite recently there was an incident involving a large group of students which involved a quite physical fight causing students to end up in hospital (the students were hardly disciplined). While we are on the topic of violent students there was a fatal case of one of their students brutally murdering her
10 yr old sister where as the school was invading the said student privacy by identifying them (the news case/article hadn't even done that due the fact they are a minor).
Lake Mac High is also known for being racist, one incident of racism is a teacher assigning an assessment task asking students to write an article from a racist perspective asking students to write an article from a racist perspective asking students to justify racism.
In the end lake Mac High isn't an ideal school to enrol your children at, as a former student I would definitely not recommend.
They don’t deal with bullying just advice you to stop going to school. Need to get better teachers as most of them just don’t care. They don’t deal with students well they just let it go
It is a shit house school they need better teachers, facilities and also need more control on bullying and helping the students not encouraging them to drop out they are horrible school don’t recommend
