Being a part of the community is incredibly beneficial, the school environment often feels like a second home, teachers are extremely attentive and are always up for arranging extra meetings, the school often takes complaints seriously about teachers etc, there are lots of opportunities for leadership and extra programs.
It can be quite traditional, although I think it is making some progress in the important areas (LGBTQIA+, religious inclusivity), but it can feel quite restricting for some, at any private school there are lots of silly rules that seem pointless and yet they are very adamant to keep. (Higher ups can be a bit ego driven but will hear you out)
Of course there are positives and negatives of a single sex schools, they are a bit old fashioned however I believe girls only schools can be incredibly beneficial, we are free to talk about women social issues openly without discrimination, students feel able to take up any subject or cocurricular like sport or sciences, and all the student leaders are girls as well so it allows younger students to have female role models as well as limit the overall misogyny that so many girls face in coed highschools.
Paired with the leadership program and the fact that it’s an all girls school I feel like I have a head start in life.
