i went to macarthur from year 7 to year 10. the school is good for academics and the creative arts programs are really great!! unfortunately the school is only really focused on grades. the well-being of the students is quite poor. the school only got a pastoral care teachers in 2022 and the pastoral care teachers lack the education as they aren't psychologists. i think the school would benefit from getting school psychologists, accessed by all students. and have the teachers do more in-depth training in standard mental health and mental illness so they can help more students get through the more difficult times in their lives. as well as help individual students with balancing their education and mental health so they can still partake in having an education as well as working towards recovery!
The academics at Macarthur are excellent. The teachers genuinely care for the students and how well they perform. The school is very academic oriented which suits only some students. The opportunities given to those who exel at academics are marvelous however if academics isn't what your good at there are still some opportunities but not the same amount or level.
Good education, good teachers only down side are bratty kids which is expected at a private school and small range of subjects to choose from, year 7-12
i’ve been to 5 different schools, all catholic until i went to macarthur anglican. i switched over in year 10 and it was easily the best decision i’ve made in my entire life, i can say that confidently. the private education system is so different and this school has really helped me love school again and want to achieve well in my future by giving only the best opportunities.
