Too much pastoral waste of time in years 11 and 12.
Year 11 students are now required to do a subject called Invictus. It's not necessarily taken by teachers and is primarily a useless waste of time. They don't get marked on it. It's not associated with NESA. So why? Why use up free periods our kids could be using to study subjects they have chosen for their HSC. Just more examples of the schools bloated pastoral presence. More time on education please. Particularly in senior years.
A new principle started at this school five years ago and it is going downhill. Last week in chapel they had Danny Milenkov. Please, please google this name and check out his ideas on the end of the world (was a few years ago but now it's soonish), marriage and single parents (bad). Then look up the name of the principal and Google it. Also, don't send your daughters here. They can't wear their hair out (naughty saucy girls) and have to do detention for the slightest misstep. Boys, well they can "be boys" and all will be forgiven. Very arbitrary rules. These are not Christian Values. This is mysogynism. There are some lovely, hardworking teachers here but they are leaving at a rapid rate and being replaced by more pastors and flunkies (with their own barista that the teachers can't use). Read the Google reviews. And check out their education rating. It's slipped enormously in the last four years.
absolutely horrific school. extremely homophobic and transphobic and bigoted but they blame it all on their religion. so much stuff in my life that went downhill was because of that school, ESPECIALLY since the new principle and just about everyone has the same opinion of him. im also autistic and the school was a horrible space for that and barely accomodated to my needs at all. wish i could give it 0 stars. pull your kids out while you have the chance, good luck . also got expelled over using a covid mask that had a pride flag on it while masks were mandatory.
It’s an average school but with constant, unneeded change since the new principle. This makes it harder for students to find a comfort in the school because it is never the same. I wouldn’t not send my kids there that’s why I gave it a four. But I also have it a four because some teachers there, not all, but some really helped me through a rough time in my life. I think if all teachers genuinely cared about their students like some do it would make a difference. But this new principle is making it hard because teachers are leaving because of him.
