What started as a local close knit community feel primary school, rapidly blew up into excess enrolments, high staff turn-over, uncontrolled bullying & poor communication to parents.
This is not made-up information, it can all be verified by evidence. For example, in 2022 the entire Year 3/4 teaching team left the school. Also some younger year levels have classes which alphabetically go as far as 2H or 3I. I have personally experienced a situation where one of my kids didn't quite make it for an "above the line pass" in numeracy for one year. Nothing was expressed to me for the entire year, not in parent teacher meetings or reports, even though the issue was a year long struggle. The intimate year level graduations & concerts eventually dwindled to nothing, turning it's only extra curricular focus to sport.
The lack of consistency across this past decade have meant that MPS is now beginning to lose enrolments again. The before mentioned issues have only reared their heads again. Classes are increasingly sounding more disengaged & serious incidents are a common occurrence. Requests to speak to principals is rarely actioned, the new "well-being" staff member is who will call you nowadays.
As time goes by it's obvious that Janet Hamer is simply riding out her term until her contract ends & she can retire. It's nothing short of devastating that she refuses to keep her school running consistently & seems to not care that those who suffer are the people that keep her in her position: teachers, parents & students.
What is one constant is the ever irritating voice of Mark Hart over the PA system, the forever "I love the sound of my own voice" echoes around half the suburb.
Parent of students who collectively attended MPS for 9 years.
