No hope for living at MPSC

MPSC has always felt it was necessary to put their reputation above anything, and staff tend to favour students. Any reviews that has a 4 or 5 star were the favoured students that didn’t struggle and was academically gifted enough to be appreciated by staff and others at this school. But for the people that needed more help, it just wasn’t there. Most of the staff are terrible and have a superiority complex over their students where they use their power to get what they need. Majority of them throw away PD’s around like they’re prizes if anyone had done anything that goes against what the teacher wants.
Not to mention several of their students suffered mentally but the school’s services to help were not good enough. The school never wants to address any of the terrible things that actively happens in the school out of fear of losing the reputation they’ve spent years building.
I have spent my last years miserable going to school everyday because of the blatant favouritism from teachers showing preference to the students that excelled over the students that needed more help. I hated going here everyday and whenever I broke down into tears to try and get my point across to teachers, they would never listen. Out of every teacher I’ve had, only 3 I felt actually cared enough to help out and tutor me.
I’m so much happier now that I’ve finally graduated but I can’t believe I spent “the best years of my life” miserable in the “best school in Hume”.

And I truly believe I had it a little easier than a lot of people here. I’ve heard people suffered through racism and verbal abuse from staff members and plenty had gone through terrible experiences from the receptionists.
But this school doesn’t bring up or address any of these concerns. Not here, and definitely not at the school.

MPSC love their reputation and would hate to see any bad reviews. But hopefully they can look past hiding a lot of their staff’s terrible actions and terrible system of order and actually attempt to make things a lot better so that students don’t have to suffer as much as I or others did.

Then again.
I don’t have hope.
Let’s start with a reply on your very first 1 star review addressing these concerns.
Hopefully.

Bitter staff m

The most disengaged & unmotivated students I've ever encountered in the Northern suburbs of Melbourne. As staff we attend countless hours of after school meetings about how to keep the students interested & foster positive learning, yet absolutely none of this is present in the classroom. We are told to follow a particular model for structuring our classes, but in reality no one does any of this. Some classes appear like it's run by a babysitter, such as "model or seal" students, while the actual teacher can't be bothered getting up from their laptop to do anything. There are often students wandering around during class time. When asked about where they're going, it's never justified with a toilet pass in hand.
Similar sets of circumstances happen around the school outskirts, even at the local shopping centre. I've seen students at the local playground off Redleap Road, heard more than their share of swearing for a lifetime too. It just feels like no one on staff can be bothered taking the extra steps because the low morale is so wideswept. Every area of the school has staff with bitterness towards someone or something that occurred at some stage. This resentment is toxic & confusing for the teachers who just want to get the job done.
There are layers of really deep disloyalty & ongoing greviences which make this a most unsettling work place. I cannot imagine what impression this makes on the students & parents. All I can say is, check out some of the alternative schools in the area before settling for MPSC. There are loads of new schools with established principal teams that are leaders in the community as well as their schools.

What do the teachers REALLY say about YOUR kids?

Avoid attending events or considering sending your kids to this school. The teachers are only interested in self promotion and will do anything to boost their status. Most especially when it comes to the annual production where the same set of kids get main parts every year, which is anything but "fair" for inclusiveness.
Teacher Wendy Nagel's abhorrent behavior behind the scenes from auditions, in practices plus performance nights has been noticed by other staff, parents and students alike. It is the kind of behavior which greatly affects the mental health of the students. When enough of the school community begin to hear these things there will be noticeable opportunities to stop this.

Run away, bad bad bad

This school has gone from bad to baddest in the space of 2-4 years. Me and my siblings went thru middle years from 2020-2024. I saw so much bullying, kids vaping and low quality teachers. There were so many lazy teachers that don't bother to remember your name. Students literally destroy things and there are never any consequences.

Negative

Terrible experience with bullies from students and teachers. Others try to inflate their ego by putting people down.

Avoid at all costs

Unmotivated teachers that do nothing but lecture on repeat. The school cares more about how it appears to others than dealing with it's internal issues. Very unhappy with hardly any feedback on my child's progress, despite him failing several subjects in year 10 which meant he couldnt commence vce.

Run far away from this school.

My sister and I were both bullied and harassed here, she was even assaulted and they didn’t do anything. Also the facilities are awful and constantly breaking and they like to act they are a great school with awesome teachers, students and facilities and when they are the absolute opposite.

Bullying

I dealt with some really bad bullying there and though there were teachers few did try to help it didn’t really do much.
