Mount Erin Secondary College - Mount Erin Deaf Facility

Very bad high school in Frankston. The assistant principal told my child she will never be good enough to get into another school in the area. My child was bullied and targeted by teachers at this school, she also had things thrown at her by a teacher. Teachers here are more interested in their phones than teaching. Few of the classrooms have needed asbestos removed, there are definitely more that need to be checked out. Majority of this school is quite outdated, do not send your child here if they are ‘weird’, they will not make it out alive.

My experience at Mount Erin has so far been pretty good, the staff is nice and supportive, but there are alot of rules that i personally disagree with, for instance, there is a rule that if you need to go to the toilet during class, you have to get a pass from a teacher, go down to your house office, ask for a bathroom key, then walk down to the bathrooms that frankly are in disgusting conditions, you also have to deal with people trying to skip class in there giggling or trying to laugh at you for going to the bathroom or changing a pad. Im sorry but I personally think its very hard to have to go to that much effort just to end up in a dingey, wet, sticky and highly damaged spot with taps that have only two very unconventional modes, the pressure can either be so low its basically dripping or so hard it could spray off burnt cheese that has been stuck on a plate for three months.

just walking around at lunch you have the plentiful variety of threats being yelled at you differing between, getting barked at to having massive rocks thrown at you (i can say from experience).

and it would help if the priciple would ACTUALLY listen to us and our complaints!

but i will admit, most of my problems are sorced from the other students.

but i do have alot of good things to say about this school, the DATS building is very high quality and has alot of things to do it there, my personal favorits are the art rooms, science rooms and the d&d club after school every week, the music program is quite good quality and the teachers are all very helpful and kind, and probably my favorite part of the whole school are the noraml teachers (like english, math, art, so on), almost every teacher ive had are so good at teaching and are so amazing to us despite all the 'cool kids' constantly taking the piss out of them.

so yeah, thats about it.
