pick another school for your kid to go to

dont ever recommend going here especially if you struggle with your mental health, as most of the teachers will just tell you to suck it up and completely ignore you. the deputies claim that mental health is their number one priority but they dont help at all. all they care about is our uniform, just be grateful we came to school

Muirfield High School - A Review

I am currently enrolled at Muirfield, and am in year 9. I believe that this is a good school with a great community, however there are some withstanding issues. Firstly, this school is highly centred around sports. This is great for those who excel in this area, but not so much for those interested in the creative and performing arts. I often feel like our CAPA faculty is undervalued, and poorly funded by the school. Most keyboards in our music room don't work, and art equipment is old and outdated. Our school requires a fee (up to $70) for those participating in these types of subject, and I often wonder where this money is going. It's certainly not going into the CAPA department, like it should be. The other issue here is the misogyny. I know this is an issue in many high schools, but it should be stated nonetheless. As a female student, I often feel uncomfortable surrounding my male peers, who often make gross remarks about my body. Sexual harassment is a major issue, affecting most female students, but the punishment is not severe. Many boys get away with this, leading to an uncomfortable work environment. How can any female student thrive at this school if we are constantly feeling uncomfortable? These are my major issues with the school, but otherwise I do believe it to be a relatively good public school. It does have good canteen food though.

stop yelling at us about our socks

some of the teachers like mr kent and mr read were amazing and supportive and inspiring but some of the vice principals and heads of department were quite uncaring and seemed to hate their job and kids in need of support

Muirfield HS

The schools teachers are slow when teaching and don’t value us as students who want to learn. We do have an average activity system. In 2023 there are no music classes and limited other capa subjects. We are also running out of teachers who choose to go to a catholic school instead of ours.
