Very dangerous place for young teachers violent pupils.
This school is probably one of the worst schools in the Brisbane area a young teacher had a chair thrown at him and was nearly stabbed by a young girl trying to teach.
It took the school 20 minutes to respond for help which put him in a very dangerous situation.
When a teacher finally came up his comment was perhaps teaching is not for you what a stupid statement.
This has put this teacher off teaching which is pretty sad considering teacher are leaving the in large numbers.
I hope this prevents other teachers from risking life and injury. this school is bad and the head mistress needs to take control.
When I started at mssc and there was this kid that was bullying us and was saying bad stuff and we put in a lot of reports but then it got really bad when they told me and my friends to kill them selves so I punched the kid and I got suspended for a week and the other kid got let off
this school is awful i sent my child there early this year and so far the school has locked every toilet which i can understand since kids do bad things in them but they have one singular toilet open in the library which you must line up for , also they are extremely strict on uniforms which i also understand but during winter and it’s freezing they force kids to take off the non school jumpers mind you these jumpers are expensive, they are very bad at communicating with parents my child got a phone call home and i missed it so they left a voicemail saying that she was in trouble so obviously i got up her , the next day i called the school to ask why she was in trouble and they said the principal would call me later that day , i never got a phone call email nothing so really i got up my child for nothing because it clearly wasn’t that bad or they mistaken it , also with the new report card system they compare your child to every other kid in that grade which i find is kind of sad because they consistently say everyone is equal yet they show how well other kids did compared to yours , and the fights is crazy i get that the teachers can’t control it but it’s almost every day. and the bullying is on a whole other level , my daughter got bullied when she first moved her and i contacted the school about it and she was still consitantly bullied every day until she fought back and and she got suspended for it. i am taking her out of this school end of this term i highly don’t recommend this school
terrible school do not come here i hate it so much
i’ve haven’t even been here for a semester and i have been the victim of bullying, suspension, grope and so much more. the first term i was doing okay but my bullying got so bad i thought the things being said and done to me were normal i accepted it. eventually after ten weeks i had enough i started to lack motivation and stopped going three weeks in and i haven’t been to a full day of school, either because i couldn’t be bothered to get up in the morning, i was really late or i just skipped classes. i tried reaching for help and it felt like no one really cared and no one was actually trying. the teachers only care if you are doing your work you could be in the middle of a mental breakdown and they would still make u write some pointless paragraph down the actual office staff only care about how their school looks like to the public if their is a fight (which happen daily) instead of creating (or at least trying to) a long term solution they suspend/expel their students. i really don’t know how many fights will have to happen before the school actually does something to make me feel safe. when i walk though the gate in the morning i am not excited to learn i am instead terrified that i might be involved in a fight. we come to school to learn and set us up for a bright future so why is it that majority of us students dread waking up in the morning? i have had two siblings go to the same school and both turned out to be mentally ill, one straight up just dropped out and the other transferred because they could not handle the school. literally the only good things about the school are the occasional good teacher (they are very rare) or the food (it is quite expensive though)
i seriously do not recommend this school it will destroy you.
It’s not very inclusive even tho they say they are
School activities are only for those willing to pay lots of money. No activities other than competitive ones. Always found this annoying. Most of the teachers are good but a lot are not considerate or flexible towards students personal needs. Communication isn’t the greatest.
Horrible no help for students with disabilities. They do nothing about bullying. Some teachers where good but others I got no help from and wouldn't even Acknowledge my disability.
The students at the school are greatly affected by the Kallangur and murrumba area so most of the students come from broken homes making many of the students nehave terribly staff don’t have enough power to control them. There is poop smeared all over the boys toilets almost every day. There is trash all over the ground. The school has some amazing curriculum if you are smart enough for it if not there’s no point going here. The school has great facilities but they are constantly dirty and broken throughout the day by bad students. The school has very little excursions outside of school and barley gets any incursions anymore. The school has some amazing staff and some absolutely terrible staff there are some really intelligent and useful teachers here tho. Admin is slow and makes many mistakes. You aren’t allowed to leave class without a pass. And there’s a new class arrangement that puts grade 12 classes next to grade 7 classes so good luck studying for your qcaa without constant screams of children in ur ears. If the school ever loses a staff member don’t expect ur child to pass that class cause they won’t have a replacement teacher for months and the replacement won’t know what the hell they are doing. School is rampant in vape dealing vape, usage, and fights. The school has lots of resources for the arts and other applied subjects. The schools uniform looks goofy and the senior uniforms are uncomfortable for both men and women. No compromise is made on uniform but they will compromise with you if you are bulling people. If you are gay or a minority just don’t go here the relentless bulling you will endure is terrible no one will help. One of the best things about the school is the src which helps plan some of the actually fun activities the school has like valentines stalls and cinco demarro celebrations. None of the admin staff will treat you with respect they will not reason with you and they will treat you like shit untill you conform to what they want unless you are someone who causes fights or deals vapes cause then they’ll be your friend. The school was great untill covid hit after COVID the school hasn’t been able to get its bearings and is falling apart at the seams.
Worst school I’ve been to. Overpriced and churns out awful people
-1 star I got sexually assaulted in class and the teacher did nothing. I’ve been harassed and bullied the whole way through and the teachers turn a blind eye to blatant physical abuse in relationships. Kids vape in the toilets and the teachers don’t give a fuck and they care more about you not wearing the uniform properly than your health and safety. Also student councillors are biased and pick sides with kids they like (literally got told to not report someone threatening me with something serious cause it could ruin is life <3.) Oh and they don’t take students seriously. I got laughed at for an incident report and they did nothing, also class changes are very annoying and either never go through cause they’re too lazy or they just “forget”. Don’t send your kids here if you want them to be better people cause they’re either coming home upset or a dickhead cause all the other kids are dickheads. The uniform is also disgustingly overpriced and requires you to buy their $60 bag and socks, you also get barely any freedom regarding your appearance cause they value “respect” so much but apparently that only applies to physical appearance and not attitudes.
absolutely horrible. racism, sexism, homophobia and ableism run rampant in the hallways, whether it was a teacher or student, you never knew if you were going to be discriminated against by either. i had called out a now retired teacher for racially profiling my brown friend when the teacher had asked one of the members of the class to help deliver a debit card that one of her students from another class had dropped. my friend sweetly volunteered to deliver the card as he was also friends with this student. the teacher rudely snapped at him, “i dont know who you are” and picked a random white boy up the back. when i explained to her that my friend knows the girl that owns the debit card she quite literally screeches at me to sit down, shut up and do my work. there was also white teachers using the n word openly and directed toward students, blatant homophobia from teachers such as a teacher telling 2 girls to stop hugging as it was wildly inappropriate when a straight couple was basically having intercourse down the hallway a meter away or a teacher telling a couple to stop holding hands (during the yes or no vote) and once that couple was out of ear shot, the teacher then turns to the group of students near by and says “didnt vote for you by the way”. also not to mention the amount of disrespect between teachers to students. there were very few amazing teachers that had respect for their students, shout out mr m. this school prioritised its own reputation rather than the welfare and mental health of its students, punishing them for trivial things such as incorrect socks and pulling your phone out to check the time in between classes. they always had brief and pointless chats about mental health just to cover their asses but never cared. and they pointed the fingers at the year 12s for majority of the cohort not having their QCE’s by the end of term three and they didnt think once to point the finger at themselves.
