There are public schools, and then there is Picton High School…
A school with no accountability, organisation, respect, opportunities and not to forget a failed education system.
As a whole package, Picton High School has failed in every aspect as a school, to provide a foundation for not only students education, but enriching opportunities that nurtures confidence and challenges.
Staff members have no accountability and consistency to provide to students an enriching environment.
The mentality of this school is “it is what it is” mentality. A few bad apples doesn’t justify the lack of responsibility and accountability that all staff members must uphold.
It is the responsibility of teachers to find solutions to help students of all abilities learn and challenge themselves. When students show case potential in their subject areas, it is the responsibility of the teacher to nurture and provide homework and revision.
This school sends their 100m relay team to the NSW championship with no sports teacher or school representative, nor any practice drills provided leading up to the event. A team of talented students that had no support for an outstanding achievement.
Shame on the sports teachers and shame on the school as a whole.
This school provides no support when matters need to be dealt with accordingly.
Students are not provided homework and revision.
Student projects are vandalised due to the poor attitude of teachers not monitoring their students.
Students miss out on opportunities due to a lack of communication, organisation and just being non existent.
Picton spends more time trying to make everything fun and pointless than providing building blocks to success, and self achievement.
The programs and opportunities that is offered is a facade. It’s made to tick the box and give false reality of what it means to actually “earn” your achievements.
It’s not about the award, it’s about how you got the award.
This school is a clown show that will continue to hand out lollies to any Tom, Dick and Harry, and neglect the students that actually do reflect greatly on the school.
Morning tea, muffty day, inflatable castles, pointless celebration days and all the insignificant incentive's this school promotes, will not provide your children a stable enough education.
This school has dropped drastically over the years in hsc students graduating. How can all the hsc courses be provided when there are under 50 students participating.
How can any student have a chance to aspire bigger goals when their teachers have no goals to begin with.
Do not send your children here. Pay the extra money for travel to another public school or private school.
All the money wasted upgrading this school means nothing. It’s not about quantity and how many brain rot actives and sports you can provide, it’s about quality.
WORST SCHOOL EVER!
went here from year 7 dropped out half way through year 10 they wouldn’t let my mum sign me out cause I have to be 17 but any other kid could leave.
I got bullied in year 9 from two girls so the next year in every class I have I got those two same girls after they told me I wouldn’t have to worry about them anymore
Honestly if I would pick a school I would rather go to WAC than this school.
Bad bad bad the people in there are so rude and always bullying DO NOT let your kids go to that hell hole im in year8 and I was going to stay until year 12 but since the rude people I’m dropping out in year 10 thx Picton high school
My experience at picton high school was terrible to say the least, most teachers don’t care if your struggling their just there for a pay check. The support system in that school is useless, and not to mention the bullying/violence. The school doesn’t even try to understand both sides of the story instead they hand out suspensions like it’s paper. There is still heaps of other stuff.. That school has many improvements to be made but for now l would strongly advise not to send your kids there, not only for their education but mental health as well.
