Could not recommend this school less. I attended from years 8-12. The entire culture of the school is toxic, controlling and stifling. Individuality is repressed in favour of strict and baseless rules and regulations (non- uniform socks could result in detention).
The principal is a performative charlatan. This school does not care about student health and well-being in the slightest. It is homophobic, transphobic and disgustingly conservative. Over my time there I knew LGBTQ+ students who were told by teachers that they could not hold hands at school.
Sacred Heart fosters a culture of bullying and popularity contests. This is not the school to send your daughter to if you want her to grow into a kind, well balanced woman. This is a school that caused me and so many others to develop trauma and mental illness - and the staff simply do not care.
From an educational perspective, the standard of teaching is unbelievably low. All the girls I know who performed well on VCE exams had private tutors or taught themselves. I graduated with a 98.55 ATAR and I taught myself everything. In particular, my literature teacher was absent for 2/3 of classes. I engaged my own private resources. Sacred Heart takes credit for good marks, but the teachers are sub-par and care more about uniform guidelines than teaching.
Facilities wise- it’s a concrete block. There’s no grass at this school.
Do not send your child here. I don’t know a single person who has fond memories of their time at Sacred Heart.
