School Parrot - verify reviews

Hey School Parrot - how do you verify any of these comments are from actual parents/carers or students who attend or have attended the schools commented on here? These reviews have zero credibility.

If you send a child to a Catholic school, expect there to be standards, there are rules regarding behaviour, as well as personal presentation in line with school uniform policy. Expect an education in standard subjects of Math, English, Science, HASS, Sports/PE, Languages, Drama, Music, etc as well as teachings on God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, Mother Mary, other Angels and Saints, as well as the Holy Bible, Prayers, Faith, and Catholic beliefs/teachings in general - taught at the child’s learning level. There is also participation in Holy Mass, Liturgies, and special times of the liturgical year such as Ash Wednesday, Lent, Easter, Advent and Christmas, as well as important feast days pertaining to the school’s Patron Saint or Saints. It’s a Catholic school.

These things are outlined in the information booklet or prospectus of any good school.
You sign the enrolment application, you are signing an agreement to follow these when you choose to accept a placement for your child at that school. Anyone with a functioning brain would know and understand this.

If you don’t like it, send your child/ren elsewhere. There are plenty of public state schools to choose from. No one is forcing you to send your child to a Catholic school, but don’t belittle these schools simply because they are Catholic with unknowledgeable and pig-ignorant reviews.

SBC's Main Features

Most teachers are nice, very welcoming, although rules are quite strict and you will get into trouble a fair bit. The curriculum is alright, though that's more of a Brisbane Catholic Education thing. Marking is rather fair, and quite often you will be marked by more than one teacher. The most beneficial part of the school for me is their extra-curricular activities, including sport, drama, and even some STEM mixed in. Even though the school is heavily mixed in with Catholicism, you aren't forced to believe in God, etc. Overall, quite a good school, just make sure you don't mix with the wrong people, they won't quite beat you up, but it's just not a nice thing to come by.

St benedict’s

In my experience and opinion this school cares way too much about the wrong things. There are students who have such bad mental health they can barely even get out of bed in the morning to come to school but as soon as they do they’re screamed at for the wrong socks or jumper. there are real world problems that should be dealt with within the school. i’ve been bullied, abused and sexually assaulted at this school, and i know others have experienced worse. they allow no room for self expression, and care way too much about appearance. there are only few teachers who actually care.

no, just no.

teachers are absolutely horrible, only care about uniform, and not a child’s mental health, needs, or requirements. Show zero help to children with disabilities, simply just sends them to a room to skip classes. Very strict about jewellery and presentation, don’t send your child here.
