A long time parents honest review.

JPC has unfortunately shifted away from the qualities that once made it an appealing choice for families seeking an innovative and independent learning environment. Over time, significant changes in the school’s pedagogy have negatively impacted student outcomes, with falling academic results reflecting this trend.

One of the most concerning aspects is the lack of investment from teachers in the success of their students. Unless a student is considered a "favourite," they may struggle to receive the support they need to thrive. Instead of prioritising the pastoral care and individual needs of students, much of the focus has shifted toward enforcing rigid school rules, often to the detriment of what’s truly best for the students.

The arrival of the new principal, "Dr" Wattam, has exacerbated these issues. Leadership decisions under their tenure appear to be steering the school away from its initial vision of fostering independence and holistic education. The once-unique learning approach has been diluted, leaving the school feeling like just another regular Catholic institution.

Bullying goes unchecked, whilst those getting bullied, if they react, get much harsher punishments. There are also gangs in the school, due to their ethnicity, are untouchable.

Overall, the loss of the school’s independent ethos and the apparent disregard for pastoral care are deeply disappointing. Families seeking a nurturing and innovative educational experience may need to look elsewhere.
