Been going downhill very fast in recent times due to new leadership. Majority of quality teachers have left due to this poor leadership. Headmaster and Vice Headmaster are trying to destroy the positive Patty Boy culture. Vaping is quite a big problem that isn’t being tackled hard enough. Overall everything is quite good, good facilities, positive people, some of the teachers are very good (those that are left), however the people in charge are driving the school into the ground.
I have attended St Patrick’s for 6 years (7-12) and have noticeably seen the school go down significantly after new leadership and principals in 2021. The students are feral, it’s become that bad the teachers are walking around with DB Radios to call for backup, the teachers simply don’t care about educating or improving students in any way - some hate their job and give constant sass to students. The education is very very average - teachers give up and put a task on the board without any explanation. The students form a cult or group within the school year levels and brings down those not in this “group”. In positive light, the school does have some good facilities that are amazing, technology, food technology, music and media etc. My honest advice is; if you or your child want a good education, send them to Ballarat Grammar or another private school because SPC hasn’t been the best at educating myself. The only thing this school cares about is the outside image (reputation), if anything bad happens within the school gates - it’s your problem, the school wants nothing to do with it.
To those teachers that are amazing within spc, I thank you for teaching me in extraordinary ways, it’s been a pleasure having you. To those teachers that have had enough of their job and take it out on students - please retire asap, you make our days hell.
I can’t wait to be out of St Patrick’s College and never step foot back in this dump ever again.
