I am writing this review right now in this school as a student.
Look, this school is.....Okay...
I'm trying to think of reasons of how this school is amazing but nothing's coming up. All that comes to mind is the food, the food is amazing!
But everything else...Yikes..
The teachers are half and half for me, some are really lovely and really nice. And the other half are disrespectful robots working to get a paycheck.
They take bulling very seriously, and they hand out punishments like its giving lollies to kids. I remember I accidentally broke something, then I had to be in the RTC (Responsible Thinking Room) For the entire day while they 'investigate'!
The RTC is like detention, you go in there, sit down and do nothing. You can't speak or turn your head around or you'll get in trouble! If you speak twice you get sent home.
I was in there the entire day, and when I got home the school called my parents and finally thought of a punishment...After school detention and another day in the RTC!!!
And the students...They are awful! They say some of the nastiest things you could hear! I'm not going to list it because it's that bad...
The lessons are very boring, and the activities are, meh...
Honestly, I think a state school could do better.
If you're thinking about sending your child here, I suggest you look somewhere else.
St. Thomas More College has a great school environment with a lot of engaging extracurricular opportunities to go along side it’s passionate teaching staff. However, the strict uniform policies and RTP (responsible thinking process), which is highly ineffective, and the time taken out of every period 1 class to write a paragraph for statistical purposes causes many students to lose interest in the school environment and this can have a toll by the time the students are in grade 11 and 12 as they won’t feel as compelled to excel. *this is all from personal experience from a year 12 in 2023*
