Currently in Year 12 at Tempe High School and I moved from Casimir Catholic College in Year 9 (2020). Catholic schooling was not for me and I definitely fit way better in at tempe and found people i related to morally and creatively. The music teachers and programs are absolutely amazing as well as all the CAPA subjects. However in Year12 I feel like some of the teachers just don’t really care about our wellbeing and were not giving us the correct information about early entry to Uni, careers etc. The english and math department especially can be really unorganised with giving us important info about exams and assigments but other than that I really like tempe
I am a year 12 student at Tempe High School 2023. Despite the amazing potential of the students, staff are just not doing enough to support us.
The schools reliance on outside of school tutors is appalling. When a student chooses a subject that is considered difficult, it is expected that they have a tutor for it. Why cant teachers do their job and teach?
The management of assignments and hand in tasks is poor. The year 12 hand in maths assignment was cancelled a week before it was due because the teachers had found the entire thing online. Why did the students have to be impacted due to the laziness of teachers?
Mental health issues are not handled properly. When students come to teachers for help in regards to their mental health, they are referred straight to a councillor who smiles while students rant about issues that are affecting them, only for their advice to be “meditate” or “count to 10 when youre feeling stressed”
If you thought it couldn’t have gotten worse, weve only scratched the surface. Dont make the mistake of sending your children here.
