This is the WORST child care In the whole of Geelong, constant turn over in staff and to many trainees.
The main educator in the 3 year room is absolutely rude, incompetent and mentally unstable in front of the children which i have witnessed, she has failed the duty of care to my son on numerous occasions which were reported to the Department.
The issues we had is educators not filling out accidents reports (Which is a legal requirement) or calling me when my son had a head injury/big bruises and bump on his head, i am still waiting receive some of incident reports.
The dates of the incidents were sent to the director of the Hive in Newcomb as well as being spoken About in team care meetings.
I also sent the picture and dates to the department.
The 3 year old room leader was not inclusive to my 3 year old Non verbal son on quite a few occasions, she has also yelled in my face while holding my son in my hands when i asked her why the visuals that my sons Support worker made were still not up and being implemented.
It took for me to call the department and for them to investigate the centre for the visuals to be hung up.
While i was in a meeting speaking about how she treated me and my son with special needs She then barged in uninvited and said that she had NO intention of hanging up or using my sons visual as she doesn’t have time or understands why she needs to alter the learning program or introduce these things for only one child.
I have heard this same education yell at children until they cry and tell them that they are naughty and would not get there morning tea or lunch and isolate them away from the other children which i did tell the person at the front desk which i now know to be a lady that was there from head office.
When the Educational leader was in charge of the 3 year old room when my son first started she didn’t change my Son’s nappy for the whole day which caused a bad nappy rash and kept loosing the form i filled out for funding for the daycare to have an additional educator to help with my son, i filled the forms out 3 times in 6 months, when i asked the director why they still haven’t been handed in her response was ‘ I have been too busy organising a Christmas party’.
I have seen the 3 year old be not in ratio.
The centre Director is running the Hive to the ground and makes excuses after excuses up when she is called out on things that should have be done to have an inclusive, safe centre.
I did speak and email with the area manager on offered to have a meeting with her and the owner about all of my concerns which she agreed to but when i sent her a few follow up emails to find out what date and time, i never heard back.
I know that The director was asking her staff to put in good reviews about the centre so the centre would get more stars to make people believe it was a good centre which it certainly is NOT.
Some staff didn’t feel comfortable and didn’t do it.
My 3 year old special needs son is still scared and cry’s every time we need to drive past the Hive in Newcomb to take him to his new daycare centre, his time at the Hive as impacted him in such a negative way that will take time to undo what they have done.
A day care centre is meant to have kind, caring and inclusive directors, educators and staff who actually care about the children and their welling but in this centre sadly you won’t find that.
