Teachers have bias, and will target students. Peers are often rude, and bad influences. I would rather pop my own eyes with a spoon then go back. School grounds are often littered with rubbish.
Urrbrae has excellent classes but the teachers and students there make it a horrible high school experience. students bully and steal from others and teachers never listen to what students have to say when being told off. as a student of urrbrae
myself i think that the wellbeing teachers are some of the most toxic teachers in the skl considering they are WELLBEING teachers they shouldnt be putting us students down and making us feel bad about ourselves.
I was bullied in primary school and didn't have many friends. However, once I got to Urrbrae, everything changed. I met a great group of friends at Urrbrae who had similar interests, and I excelled in hands-on subjects such as beekeeping, aquaculture, horticulture and conservation and land management. As well as academic subjects such as biology, maths and animal science and as such, after primary school, my grades and attitude towards school significantly increased due to being able to pick subjects I was interested in. Urrbrae’s lunchtime clubs were also a great way to meet like-minded people in year 8. Most of the students are friendly and have similar interests due to submitting an application, and most teachers are also great. Honestly, I had some friends who left due to homophobia. However, it was the best school I could have ever gone to, and I will always be grateful for the time I spent at Urrbrae and the great memories I created there. I would highly recommend it.
Awesome school! I love going there every day as literally all teachers are so nice as well as the majority of students. When I applied, I was only really thinking about the ag opportunities. But ever since I have arrived I have learnt that this school is sooo much more than that.
Its an alright school i live in the Adelaide hills so it takes a little while to get down so thats annoying, the bus down to school and up to the hills is always full though. I honestly didn't get in till year 9 and it was very intimidating in terms of both work load and finding the different buildings. I would go to urrbrae again if i were to go to school again, it offers a fair bit in terms of job connections and apprenticeships. Agricultural is great best school for that in SA in my opinion but for work experience i went on a station and the school didn't allow students to ride motorbikes or quads but otherwise it was school it came with lots of stress but plenty of help along the way from the gpod teacher.
Urrbrae had some amazing opportunities where if you only need to just take part. I went to the royal show, did wine making, looked after the sheep, All while being apart of their amazing science unit, practising physics.
Urrbrae agricultural high school is a wonderful place to complete your secondary education. With so many amazing opportunities in the agriculture, science, and technology areas, I cannot think of a better place to learn. With a lovely community filled with capable staff and inviting students, I recommend everyone consider Urrbrae for their child’s education.
