Some of the teachers and staff are on the biggest power trip I’ve ever seen, they treat students like dogs and have refused me entry to the canteen when I had no other food because I had a nose ring. Schools need to worry more about education and helping the students who need it more than the students appearance. The constant bullying from the “popular kids” was even egged on by some teachers and sometimes they would even join in on said teasing, name calling and would voice their opinions on students aloud to the class. I’ve had friends tell me that even after I left that some teachers still talk about me in a bad manner however about the same amount of times I’ve heard that they’ve said good things about me. Teachers need to do their jobs and leave their own high school age pettiness out of the workplace.
On another note I don’t believe in the way that our education system works as I’ve learnt more in the year or so I’ve been out of school than I did in the classroom setting, I find that myself along with many other students can work better hands on and doing the practical work over the written assessments so maybe the future generations might have better luck in that than I have.
At this school I have experienced really good teaching from teachers who know what they're doing and know how to teach it. There's never a question left unanswered. Unless, of course, it's one of the newer teachers. The facilities available are rather out of date maintenance wise but that's not why I rated this so low. Here, there are fights experienced practically every day and recently there was a lockdown because a student had the bright idea to bring a knife to school and apparently go after either a teacher or a student. Also, the wrong info spreads around school stupidly fast. The bigoted and idiotic take up a majority of the people that go to this school unfortunately, which is why I have been bullied for little to no reason, people literally grasping at straws to insult my appearance. I wear a jumper around my waist and somehow I'm referred to as an emo. No, I do not have dyed hair. My hair is naturally a dark brown. Anyway, if your teenager is not bothered by bullies and knows not to get involved with the wrong crowd, by all means enrol them, because the teachers are great! But if your child begins to get into altercations with other students, I recommend you look at other schools. Also, this school is absolutely terrible for those with disabilities. The students are absolutely horrible towards them and they're separated for the most part, meaning the students aren't able to get used to having neurodivergence in society, which could likely cause issues later on in neurotypical students' lives.
